20 Year History of New Star Realty
1988
- September 27th: Three people including Chris Moonkey Nam founded the company. Became a member of Realty World Franchise.
- Awarded the Highest Excellence award from Great Western Real Estate Department
- Awarded the Highest Excellence award from Sunny Realty
- Awarded the Highest Excellence award from ERA Grove Realty
- March 1st: Received Appreciation Award from Orange County Koreans Association for aiding in paying back the debt for Korean Association building
1989
- Selected as the top grossing office by Realty World, the franchisor, within 1 year of establishing the company.
- July: Chris Nam - sole president
- Top 1989 agent: Andy Kim (Sun-Woong Kim)
1990
- Received the Top Award from "Realty World Western Zone in Realty World"
- Changed the company name to "New Star Realty & Investment."
- Awarded "Outstanding Performance Award" from WOC Realty Association
- Top 1990 agent: Michael Lee (Sang-Young Lee)
1991
- Selected as the Top Office in Northern America by Realty World
- Awarded Northern America Top Office award by "International Award in Realty World"
- Bought Garden Grove Office (6800 square feet)
- Agent Chang-Hyun Kim awarded Top Award for commercial buildings in Northern America
- Established New Star Realty School
1992
- Awarded Top Award by Realty World (1991 and 1992)
- Changed the franchisor from Realty World to ERA. Changed the company name from Realty World New Star to ERA New Star.
- Agent Mark Min awarded Top Award for top quantity commercial buildings sales in Northern America.
- March 27 - awarded Appreciation Award from Orange County Korean Association (President Ho-young Jung).
- December 20 - WOC Real Estate Agents Association - Awarded, again, "Outstanding Performance" award.
- Best Agent: Sunny Jin
1993
- Awarded as the Top Sales Listing Agent in West O.C Association (1992, 1993)
- Awarded Appreciation Award
- Jenny Nam acquired CCIM.

1994

1995
- New Star chosen as the model company by Orange County Korean Chamber of Commerce
- Set up a building management company
- 14 New Star agents enrolled in "Management Class" of Orange County Korean Association graduated.
- Chris Nam interviews with Park Young Sun of MBC on American Real estate and economy
- July 22nd: Awarded appreciation award from Orange County Korean-American Sports Association (Chairman Hyung-Sun Hwang)

- Chris Nam awarded Korean Top Management Award by the Southern California Minority Corporation Association
- Chris Nam elected as the Southern California Korean Economic Association vice president.
- Headquarters moved to LA.

- Chris Nam elected as the Southern Korean Real Estate Association president.

2000
- Chris Nam chosen as Korea National Real Estate Realtor's Association commissioner.
- Chris Nam lecturer at Yonsei University School of Management, Kyounghee University School of Administration, Kunkook University School of Administration.
- Awarded Appreciation Award from Kukdo Media for contributing to Anti-Drugs Campaign.
- Appreciation Award from US Federal Department of Census for contribution to 2000 National Tax Census
- Appreciation Award for successful 18th Orange County Korean Festival from California House of Representative Dick Ackerman, Rowe Cosh, and Joseph L. Dunn.
- Chris Nam special lecture at Yonsei University, Kyounghee University, and Kunkook University.

2001

- March 31st. Torrance office opened.

- February 26th - Lynn Choi, Jenny Nam, Samuel Kim attend ERA Rally at San Antonio, Texas.
- March 1st - Rancho Cucamonga office opened.
- March 27th - Investment Expo Special Lecture lecturer (Trade Center)
- April 3rd - registered as LA Korean-American Association presidential election candidate.
