The making of the biggest Korean-American real estate company started on September 27th 1988, at Garden Grove, California. At the 1800-square feet office, three people including Chris Moonkey Nam founded the company with the frontier spirit of "everything from nothing."

Currently, there are fifty branches and one thousand agents in the company. There are branches in Los Angeles (the worldwide headquarter), Garden Grove (Orange County headquarter), Fullerton, Cerritos, Torrance, Irvine, Rowland Heights, Glendale, Valley, Corona, Rancho Cucamonga, Chino Hills, Victorville, Valencia, and La Crescenta. There are New Star franchisees in San Diego, Washington D.C., Rockville(Maryland), Atlanta(Georgia), and Seoul(South Korea). New Star is the biggest Korean-American owned real estate company in the United States, a pride of Korean-Americans.

In 2002, coincidentally the 15th anniversary of the company, the annual sales figure reached 1.5 billion dollars (approximately five trillion won). In the company, there are more than a hundred agents who earn more than $100,000 annually and several who earn more than $700,000 annually. Every year, New Star realty is ranked as one of top 5 companies in ERA Business World Convention. CEO Chris Nam, is a role model who was introduced in major newspaper columns and Business Week as "the Rising Star." He has a plan of taking New Star nationwide and worldwide through the Korean Marine spirit, which is "you can achieve whatever you set your mind to."

Also, New Star group synthesizes the related businesses. New Star is a company with unstoppable energy, it also has the goal of becoming the real estate investment financial company. The company strives to help each individual be his/her personal best with the merit system of talent.

Furthermore, New Star seeks to activate New Star Franchise system - the company is looking for real estate companies to be its franchisees with the goal of getting into New York, San Francisco, Seattle, San Jose, and Las Vegas markets.

New Star Investment Group, the retirement preparation program for the agents, is recruiting investors for the first investment fund of $3,000,000. The Group will lend money when a member buys real estate. Ultimately, the goal is to establish an investment bank.

New Star Escrow company is presently in Los Angeles, Cerritos (Southern California), and Diamond Bar (Eastern California).New Star Real Estate school, which for the past 20 years has educated more than 10,000 students, has classes in Los Angles, Orange County, and additionally in Cerritos. For the agent's education, we have nine-week long training sessions four hours a week. New Star Realty also has a "Mentor(Brother) System," in which the new agent gets one-to-one training from a senior agent. New Star realty also is doing high-level training through many seminars and re-education systems. There is also New Star Scholarship Foundation. New Star group tries to support the talented students for the next generation and give back to the community the profits the company makes.

Also, New Star group will establish an insurance company in 2003, a printing & design company, a synthesized apparel company, a moving company in 2004, a title company in 2005. The company will ultimately maximize the synergy effect, create employment, and create an One-Stop service system.
